Heather Congdon

Executive Director, Fairview Seniors Community

Heather stepped into the Executive Director role at Fairview in September 2022 after more than a decade working in various roles throughout the organization. She is passionate about affordable seniors' housing and inspired by the faith-based values, culture of kindness and non-profit approach to senior care at Fairview. In addition to her work as Executive Director there, she volunteers on he board of a cooperative housing property and lends her expertise to the Region of Waterloo tenant and landlord review committee.

Mary Nestor

Principal, MKN Consulting

Mary has over 35 years’ experience in the field of seniors’ care and services in both government and the private sector. She has held executive and senior leadership positions with varied portfolios focused on seniors’ care and services involving long-term care home regulatory oversight (compliance and enforcement), strategic and operational policy development, project management, privacy, corporate and crisis communications, and government relations.

Amy Porteous

CEO, Maxville Manor

Amy has over eighteen years of experience working with senior leadership positions in the Ottawa area at both Bruyère and the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre. Her experience includes leading various strategic planning exercises, operational oversight for residential programs and family medicine, operationalization of the Bruyère Village, quality and risk, communications and public affairs and the development of various proposals for new programs or services. She has a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Commerce and holds a LTC Administrator certification from AdvantAge Ontario.

Lisa Garratt

Manager of Professional Practice

Lisa works as the Manager of Professional Practice at the County of Simcoe, supporting the county’s four long-term care homes, two senior’s residential programs and paramedic services.  Her portfolio includes infection prevention and control, social work and risk management programs supporting the Health and Emergency Services division.

Soo Ching Kikuta

Director, Resident Care, and Services, Seniors Services and Long-Term Care, City of Toronto

Soo Ching Kikuta is the Director, Resident Care and Services at the City of Toronto. Prior to this position, Soo Ching held many senior leadership positions in hospitals, for profit and not for profit long-term care homes and the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care. She was the former: Director of Licensing and Compliance for the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority, Vice President Patient Care Services, and Chief Nursing Officer, Provincial Manager for RAI-MDS Implementation, Clinical Expert Consultant and co-chaired the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care Compliance Transformation Committee. Soo Ching is a popular speaker for national and regional conventions and meetings on RAI-MDS leading practices implementation and building an effective Compliance Program at the organizational level.

Megan Garland

Director, Long Term Care and Senior Services, County of Bruce

Megan currently serves as the Director of Long-Term Care and Senior Services for Bruce County, responsible for the operation of two long-term care homes, Brucelea Haven-Walkerton and Gateway Haven-Wiarton. She is a seasoned leader in long-term care and health systems, with over two decades of experience in senior leadership roles. Megan is known for her outstanding leadership and knack for building strong teams. She values respect and encourages staff to go above and beyond. She has demonstrated the ability to strategize and foster a culture of compliance, and excellence and enhances the enhances the care we provide to seniors in long-term care.

Christine Normandeau

Executive Director, Parkwood Seniors Community

Christine has been working in the not-for-profit older adult living sector for 15 years. She started her career in long-term care, after raising her family, then branching out to develop competencies in both retirement living and home and community support services. Christine currently is the Executive director of Parkwood Seniors Community. The campus of care includes long term care, retirement, garden homes, wellness center and will be opening the Delphine and Lloyd Marin independent apartments in the spring of 2024. Christine has a passion for older adults with an acumen for building partnerships.

David Marriott

Administrator, Better Living at Thompson House

David has more than 35 years of leadership experience and today leads a 136-bed long-term care home in North York, Ontario. He spent the first 15 years of his leadership journey as a Manager / Department Head in Health (hospitals) and then moved into long-term care, spending the following 20 years in senior leadership positions ranging from administrator and executive director to general manager. During the pandemic he worked with the Inner City Health Associates, leading their pandemic response for those who are marginalized, homeless, or living with addictions and mental health issues. He is a passionate volunteer in the community, serving on many boards and teams.
