Understand your fiduciary responsibilities

Leaders who work in long-term care governance have important fiduciary responsibilities, and it's absolutely essential that they understand what this means when it comes to inspections and investigations in Ontario long-term care homes. If you sit on a board, municipal committee, or council, this must-attend series will help you understand your roles and responsibilities under the new Fixing Long-Term Care Act (FLTCA), how to meet your obligations, and the legal protections in place.
  • Oversight and Risk Management

Understand the potential liability of board and council members relating to LTC home inspections, and learn how to mitigate that risk. Plus: Learn how compliance and enforcement work under the FLTCA.

  • Liability Protection

Find out how liability insurance works, learn key policy definitions, and hear how all this relates to investigations under the FLTCA as well as the Provincial Offences Act. You'll also learn what is excluded from this type of insurance.

  • Case Studies

Deepen your understanding of Ontario's new inspection legislation and liability insurance through real-world case studies and discussion of actual insurance claims. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn from the experts!
